Yes. The Europe plan covers Bosnia and Herzegovina and 48 other countries, including Croatia and Serbia, and your phone switches networks by itself at the border. It does not cover Montenegro, which has its own plan. Details in does a region plan cover every country in it?
Your plan connects to Eronet on 4G LTE, which handles maps, messaging, video calls, and streaming; 5G is not part of this plan. Coverage is strongest around Mostar and Herzegovina. Your phone joins the network automatically once the plan is switched on. If it hasn't connected a minute after landing, work through the no-signal checklist.
Only on the Europe plan, which covers both Bosnia and Croatia and switches by itself at each border. A Croatia-only plan drops out for the 20 km of Neum; a Bosnia-only plan drops out on the Croatian sides.
In the resort bases and the river towns, yes; on the trails, the passes, and the rafting stretches, often not, on any network. Download the route and the operator's number before you set off.
It depends on how much data you want and how many days you're staying. A fixed plan costs less overall; an unlimited plan (5 GB a day at full speed, then slower) works out to a lower daily rate the longer you stay. Every current option and price is in the plan selector at the top of this page.
In the app: open My plans, choose your Bosnia and Herzegovina plan, and tap Top up. The extra data lands on the same eSIM within a few seconds, with nothing new to add or scan. Full steps are in topping up data without reinstalling the eSIM.
Weeks ahead. The plan's days don't start until you turn it on and connect, so a plan bought a month before departure is still complete when you land. Plans need to be activated within 90 days of purchase. See what plan validity means and when it starts.
If it's eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked, yes, which covers most phones sold since 2019. The one-minute check for iPhone, Android, and Samsung is in is my phone eSIM compatible?

Bosnia and Herzegovina eSIM for Sarajevo, Mostar, and the road to Croatia
Set it up before you fly. It's live the moment you land, nothing to check, nothing to remember.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country of bus stations, cash, and roads that cross into Croatia and back without warning, and the phone is the thing that keeps all three straight. The best eSIM for Bosnia and Herzegovina is the one that's working when you land at Sarajevo airport, so the taxi into Baščaršija and tomorrow's bus to Mostar are sorted on the way in.
Below: how a Bosnia and Herzegovina plan works, how to set it up before you fly, what to expect in Sarajevo and Mostar and on the roads between, and why a Balkan route usually wants the Europe plan.
Most travel eSIMs make you start over for every country, which in Europe means a new QR code every few days. KnowRoaming doesn't. You add the KnowRoaming eSIM, called KR.One, to your phone once, and from then on each trip is a plan you add to it: Bosnia and Herzegovina now, Croatia in the spring, the whole continent on a Europe plan when the itinerary gets ambitious. Nothing to scan again, nothing to delete when you get home.
The plan's days start when you turn it on and connect in Bosnia and Herzegovina, not at checkout. Buy it weeks ahead, add it at home, and a delayed flight costs you nothing. The full rule is in what plan validity means and when it starts.
Choose a fixed plan for a set amount of data at the lowest overall price, or an unlimited plan when you'd rather not count. Unlimited plans give you 5 GB a day at full speed, then a slower speed until the allowance resets the next day. If a fixed plan runs low, top up in the app and the extra data lands on the same eSIM.
See it in two minutes: Meet KR.One, iPhone setup with KR.One, or Samsung setup with KR.One.
Do this at home on Wi-Fi. It takes about a minute.
Before you leave
- Get the KnowRoaming app (available on iOS and Android) and choose your Bosnia and Herzegovina plan.
- Tap Add. First time on this phone? The app adds KR.One and your Bosnia and Herzegovina plan together. Already have KR.One? Only the plan is added, with nothing to scan.
- Leave data roaming off on the KnowRoaming line until you land, and turn it off on your home line too so it doesn't run up charges in the background. Steps are in turning off roaming on your home line.
When you land
- Turn the plan on in the app, then turn data roaming on for the KnowRoaming line. That setting lives in your phone, so the app can't flip it for you.
- Give the phone a minute to find the network. If nothing happens, turn airplane mode on for 30 seconds and off again.
Prefer a QR code? The checkout page and your confirmation email both carry one; scan it from your phone's settings. Every tap, by device, is in adding your eSIM on iPhone, adding your eSIM on Android, and adding your eSIM on Samsung, or watch the iPhone QR walkthrough or the Samsung QR walkthrough. Still no signal after landing? Work through the no-signal checklist.
Sarajevo's airport is about half an hour from the old town by taxi; agree the fare or use a taxi app, since meters are not universal. The convertible mark is pegged to the euro, cash is the norm outside hotels and larger restaurants, and ATMs are easy to find in the cities. Trams run the length of the city; Baščaršija, the Latin Bridge, and the walk up to the Yellow Fortress are the first afternoon.
Intercity travel is by bus, from Sarajevo's main station, with a scenic train to Mostar as the exception. Timetables are online but change; confirming the day before, on the phone, is the habit that saves a morning.
Mostar is two and a half hours south by bus or train, and the Stari Most is the reason; the divers, the old bazaar, and the Kravica waterfalls half an hour further are the rest. Herzegovina's valleys are warmer and drier than Bosnia's, and Eronet's 4G is strongest here, around Mostar and toward the coast.
Blagaj's tekke at the river source, Počitelj's stone village, and the Trebinje wine road are day trips from Mostar, all by car or organized tour, all booked on the phone.
The coast road from Split to Dubrovnik crosses Bosnia's 20-km Neum corridor and back into Croatia, and the road from Mostar to the Croatian coast crosses too; both are on the Europe plan, 49 countries on one plan, so the phone switches by itself at each border. Montenegro, an easy day from Trebinje, is not on the Europe plan and has its own KnowRoaming plan; Serbia is on the Europe plan. A Bosnia-only plan stops at the border, so a Balkan road trip usually wants the Europe plan from the start. Read do I need a new plan for every country?
for the detail.
Jahorina and Bjelašnica, the Olympic ski hills, are 30 to 45 minutes from Sarajevo and run lift passes online. In summer the Via Dinarica hiking route and the rafting on the Neretva and Una rivers take over, and both run through valleys where the signal comes and goes. Download the route and the operator's number before you leave town.
Sarajevo's coffee culture runs on long afternoons in Baščaršija; during Ramadan the old town's rhythm shifts toward the evening, and the iftar cannon from the Yellow Fortress is the day's landmark. The Sarajevo Film Festival in August fills the city's hotels, and the tickets go online.
The north and west are the other half of the country: Banja Luka, the second city, with its riverside cafés; Jajce, where a waterfall drops through the middle of town; and the Una National Park near Bihać, where the rafting and the Štrbački Buk falls are the draw. Each is a few hours by bus, each has 4G in town, and the park roads and the river are the usual thin spots.
Your plan connects to Eronet on 4G LTE. There is no 5G on this plan. Coverage is strongest in Mostar, Herzegovina, and toward the coast, and good in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, and Tuzla and along the main roads. Your phone picks the network automatically once the plan is on; there is nothing to choose by hand.
In the mountain valleys, on the hiking routes, and on the rivers, expect gaps on any network. Save what you need in town.
Most phones sold since 2019 support eSIM, including iPhone XS and later and most Android flagships from the same window. Check yours before you add a plan; it takes a few seconds. On iPhone, go to Settings, General, About and look for an EID or Available SIM. On Android, go to Settings, Network & Internet, SIMs and look for an option to add an eSIM. On Samsung, dial *#06# and look for an EID.
Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. If you're not sure, carrier-locked vs unlocked: how to tell shows you where to look.
Adding a Bosnia and Herzegovina plan doesn't touch your regular SIM. Calls and texts on your usual number keep working exactly as before. The new plan handles data while you're there, and most phones run both at once without you doing anything else. Bank codes and two-factor texts still arrive on your home number, as long as that line stays switched on.
For a European trip the real competition isn't another eSIM. It's your home carrier's roaming add-on, priced for a weekend and throttled by midweek; the SIM counter in arrivals, after the flight, with a queue; and café Wi-Fi, in a country where even the bus ticket is in an app. A Bosnia and Herzegovina plan added at home beats all three: one price agreed before you fly, live the second you land, and a Europe plan waiting if the trip grows.
