Bluetooth, CarPlay, or Android Auto issues

Your eSIM has nothing to do with these connections. Bluetooth pairing and car integration run independently of which mobile line is active.

Pairing or connection problems in a rental car

Forget the car in your phone's Bluetooth settings and pair again, and make sure a previous renter's phone isn't still connected to the head unit. For wired CarPlay or Android Auto, try another cable; charging cables that don't carry data are a common cause.

Maps or calls fail once connected

that's the underlying data or call issue, not Bluetooth. Navigation in the car uses your KnowRoaming data, so check the line is selected for data and roaming is on, and see Maps and location not updating accurately. Voice calls through the car use your home line as normal.

Wireless CarPlay or Android Auto drops

These run over a Wi-Fi link between phone and car, and a busy hotspot on the phone can interfere. Turn the hotspot off while driving.

Download offline maps before a long drive. Navigation then works through the car regardless of signal, which matters on roads where coverage thins out.
