Quels voyageurs quelles sont les questions qui nous sont le plus souvent posées ?
Yes. The Caribbean plan covers Antigua and Barbuda and 24 other islands and destinations, including Saint Kitts and Nevis, Montserrat, and Guadeloupe, and your phone switches networks by itself as you move between them. Details in does a region plan cover every country in it?
On both islands your plan connects to Flow on 4G LTE, which handles maps, messaging, video calls, and streaming; there is no 5G. Your phone joins the network automatically once the plan is switched on. If it hasn't connected a minute after landing, work through the no-signal checklist.
Yes, the same plan covers both islands. Coverage on Barbuda is thinner than on Antigua, strong in Codrington and around the landing points and patchy on the outer beaches and in the lagoon, so download maps before you cross.
Yes. The plan starts counting when you switch it on and connect on the island, so a one-day plan covers a port day. It won't work at sea; turn it on as you disembark in St. John's and off again when you sail.
It depends on how much data you want and how many days you're staying. A fixed plan costs less overall; an unlimited plan (5 GB a day at full speed, then slower) works out to a lower daily rate the longer you stay. Every current option and price is in the plan selector at the top of this page.
In the app: open My plans, choose your Antigua and Barbuda plan, and tap Top up. The extra data lands on the same eSIM within a few seconds, with nothing new to add or scan. Full steps are in topping up data without reinstalling the eSIM.
Weeks ahead. The plan's days don't start until you turn it on and connect, so a plan bought a month before departure is still complete when you land. Plans need to be activated within 90 days of purchase. See what plan validity means and when it starts.
If it's eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked, yes, which covers most phones sold since 2019. The one-minute check for iPhone, Android, and Samsung is in is my phone eSIM compatible?

Antigua and Barbuda eSIM for beaches, sailing, and the hop to Barbuda
Set it up before you fly. It's live the moment you land, nothing to check, nothing to remember.
Already with us? Get the app on the App Store or Google Play.
Antigua sells itself on a beach for every day of the year, and most of them are reached by a taxi you'll book by message and a road you'll navigate on your phone. The best eSIM for Antigua and Barbuda is the one that's working when you walk out of V.C. Bird International, so the first hour is spent at the beach rather than at a phone counter.
Below: how an Antigua and Barbuda plan works, how to set it up before you fly, what to expect in St. John's, at English Harbour, and out on the water, and how coverage changes on the hop to Barbuda.
Island trips rarely stay on one island, and most travel eSIMs make you start over at every stop. KnowRoaming doesn't. You add the KnowRoaming eSIM, called KR.One, to your phone once, then add a plan per trip: Antigua and Barbuda this time, the whole Caribbean plan when you're hopping between islands, somewhere else entirely next winter. Nothing to scan again, nothing to delete when you get home.
The plan's days start when you turn it on and connect in Antigua and Barbuda, not at checkout. Buy it weeks ahead, add it at home, and a delayed flight costs you nothing. The full rule is in what plan validity means and when it starts.
Choose a fixed plan for a set amount of data at the lowest overall price, or an unlimited plan when you'd rather not count. Unlimited plans give you 5 GB a day at full speed, then a slower speed until the allowance resets the next day. If a fixed plan runs low, top up in the app and the extra data lands on the same eSIM.
See it in two minutes: Meet KR.One, iPhone setup with KR.One, or Samsung setup with KR.One.
Do this at home on Wi-Fi. It takes about a minute.
Before you leave
- Get the KnowRoaming app (available on iOS and Android) and choose your Antigua and Barbuda plan.
- Tap Add. First time on this phone? The app adds KR.One and your Antigua and Barbuda plan together. Already have KR.One? Only the plan is added, with nothing to scan.
- Leave data roaming off on the KnowRoaming line until you land, and turn it off on your home line too so it doesn't run up charges in the background. Steps are in turning off roaming on your home line.
When you land
- Turn the plan on in the app, then turn data roaming on for the KnowRoaming line. That setting lives in your phone, so the app can't flip it for you.
- Give the phone a minute to find the network. If nothing happens, turn airplane mode on for 30 seconds and off again.
Prefer a QR code? The checkout page and your confirmation email both carry one; scan it from your phone's settings. Every tap, by device, is in adding your eSIM on iPhone, adding your eSIM on Android, and adding your eSIM on Samsung, or watch the iPhone QR walkthrough or the Samsung QR walkthrough. Still no signal after landing? Work through the no-signal checklist.
V.C. Bird International is a few minutes from St. John's. Taxis charge fixed rates by destination rather than by meter, so check the fare board and confirm before you load the bags. Rental cars need a local permit, issued at the counter, and traffic drives on the left.
The Eastern Caribbean dollar and the US dollar are both accepted, and cards work at hotels, restaurants, and the larger shops. The minibus routes that link St. John's with the villages are cash only and run until early evening; after that it's taxis. On cruise days the capital fills up by mid-morning and empties by late afternoon.
Dickenson Bay and Runaway Bay are the resort beaches; Half Moon Bay and Rendezvous Bay take more effort and reward it. Nelson's Dockyard at English Harbour, a UNESCO site, is the island's other center, with the Shirley Heights lookout above it on Sunday evenings.
Antigua Sailing Week in late April and the Classic Yacht Regatta before it turn English Harbour into a boat show, and every crew list, party, and race update lives in a WhatsApp group. The same goes for charter days, sunset cruises, and the circumnavigation trips: bookings happen on the phone.
Barbuda is a ferry of about an hour and a half or a short flight to the north, with a long, empty beach on its west coast and the frigate bird sanctuary in Codrington Lagoon, reached by boat. Most visitors go for the day and return the same afternoon.
Coverage on Barbuda is thinner than on Antigua: fine in Codrington and around the landing points, patchy along the beach and in the lagoon. Download maps and your return ticket before you board. Both islands are covered by the same plan, and both are on the Caribbean plan if the trip continues to Saint Kitts, Montserrat, or Guadeloupe.
Antigua's Carnival runs from late July into early August, ten days of J'ouvert, parades, and fêtes in St. John's, with tickets, road closures, and the day's schedule all shared on the phone. Test and one-day cricket at North Sound draws visiting fans in the spring; tickets are online and the ground is a taxi ride from the resorts.
June to November is the wet season, with short heavy showers and, some years, a storm to plan around. Hotels and airlines post updates on their apps and social channels first, which is the practical reason to keep the plan on even on a beach day.
Jolly Harbour, on the west coast, is the second hub after St. John's: a marina, a beach, and supermarkets that serve the villa rentals along that shore. The road round the island passes Fig Tree Drive's rainforest, Devil's Bridge on the Atlantic side, and the Shirley Heights road above English Harbour; the full loop is a day.
Signal holds along the loop, with the usual dips in the hills of the south-west. Rental cars are the way to do it; agree the pickup by message and keep the permit on the phone.
Your plan connects to Flow on 4G LTE. There is no 5G on either island. Coverage is strong around St. John's, the resort coast, and English Harbour, and holds on the main roads across the interior. Your phone picks the network automatically once the plan is on; there is nothing to choose by hand.
At sea, on charters and the Barbuda ferry, the signal fades a mile or two from shore. Save what you'll need before you leave the dock.
Most phones sold since 2019 support eSIM, including iPhone XS and later and most Android flagships from the same window. Check yours before you add a plan; it takes a few seconds. On iPhone, go to Settings, General, About and look for an EID or Available SIM. On Android, go to Settings, Network & Internet, SIMs and look for an option to add an eSIM. On Samsung, dial *#06# and look for an EID.
Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. If you're not sure, carrier-locked vs unlocked: how to tell shows you where to look.
Adding an Antigua and Barbuda plan doesn't touch your regular SIM. Calls and texts on your usual number keep working exactly as before. The new plan handles data while you're there, and most phones run both at once without you doing anything else. Bank codes and two-factor texts still arrive on your home number, as long as that line stays switched on.
On an island the alternatives are thin: a home-carrier roaming pass that treats every island as a new country, a local SIM from a shop that closes early, or resort Wi-Fi that stops at the pool. An Antigua and Barbuda plan added at home beats all three: one price agreed before you fly, live the second you land, and a Caribbean plan if the trip takes in more than one island.
