यात्री क्या हमसे सबसे ज़्यादा क्या पूछा जाता है?
Yes. The Caribbean plan covers Dominica and 24 other islands and destinations, including Guadeloupe and Martinique, and your phone switches networks by itself as you move between them. Dominica is not on the Global plan. Details in does a region plan cover every country in it?
In Dominica your plan connects to Flow on 4G LTE, which handles maps, messaging, video calls, and streaming; 5G is not part of this plan. Your phone joins the network automatically once the plan is switched on. If it hasn't connected a minute after arriving, work through the no-signal checklist.
For the first hour, on and off; after that, no, on any network. Download the trail, save the guide's number, and agree a return time before you start.
On the Caribbean plan, yes at both ends: it covers Guadeloupe and Dominica and switches by itself at the port; at sea the signal fades. A Dominica-only plan starts working when you connect on the island.
It depends on how much data you want and how many days you're staying. A fixed plan costs less overall; an unlimited plan (5 GB a day at full speed, then slower) works out to a lower daily rate the longer you stay. Every current option and price is in the plan selector at the top of this page.
In the app: open My plans, choose your Dominica plan, and tap Top up. The extra data lands on the same eSIM within a few seconds, with nothing new to add or scan. Full steps are in topping up data without reinstalling the eSIM.
Weeks ahead. The plan's days don't start until you turn it on and connect, so a plan bought a month before departure is still complete when you land. Plans need to be activated within 90 days of purchase. See what plan validity means and when it starts.
If it's eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked, yes, which covers most phones sold since 2019. The one-minute check for iPhone, Android, and Samsung is in is my phone eSIM compatible?

Dominica eSIM for the rainforest, the Boiling Lake, and the ferries
Set it up before you fly. It's live the moment you land, nothing to check, nothing to remember.

Dominica is the Caribbean's hiking island, reached by a small plane or a ferry from a neighbor, with trails that go where the signal doesn't and guesthouses that confirm by WhatsApp. The best eSIM for Dominica is the one that's working when you step off the boat at Roseau or the plane at Douglas-Charles, so the taxi and the guide are sorted before the rain starts.
Below: how a Dominica plan works, how to set it up before you fly, what to expect in Roseau, on the trails, and on the water, and which plan fits when Guadeloupe or Martinique is on the same trip.
Island trips rarely stay on one island, and most travel eSIMs make you start over at every stop. KnowRoaming doesn't. You add the KnowRoaming eSIM, called KR.One, to your phone once, then add a plan per trip: Dominica this time, the whole Caribbean plan when you're hopping between islands, somewhere else entirely next winter. Nothing to scan again, nothing to delete when you get home.
The plan's days start when you turn it on and connect in Dominica, not at checkout. Buy it weeks ahead, add it at home, and a delayed flight costs you nothing. The full rule is in what plan validity means and when it starts.
Choose a fixed plan for a set amount of data at the lowest overall price, or an unlimited plan when you'd rather not count. Unlimited plans give you 5 GB a day at full speed, then a slower speed until the allowance resets the next day. If a fixed plan runs low, top up in the app and the extra data lands on the same eSIM.
See it in two minutes: Meet KR.One, iPhone setup with KR.One, or Samsung setup with KR.One.
Do this at home on Wi-Fi. It takes about a minute.
Before you leave
- Get the KnowRoaming app (available on iOS and Android) and choose your Dominica plan.
- Tap Add. First time on this phone? The app adds KR.One and your Dominica plan together. Already have KR.One? Only the plan is added, with nothing to scan.
- Leave data roaming off on the KnowRoaming line until you land, and turn it off on your home line too so it doesn't run up charges in the background. Steps are in turning off roaming on your home line.
When you land
- Turn the plan on in the app, then turn data roaming on for the KnowRoaming line. That setting lives in your phone, so the app can't flip it for you.
- Give the phone a minute to find the network. If nothing happens, turn airplane mode on for 30 seconds and off again.
Prefer a QR code? The checkout page and your confirmation email both carry one; scan it from your phone's settings. Every tap, by device, is in adding your eSIM on iPhone, adding your eSIM on Android, and adding your eSIM on Samsung, or watch the iPhone QR walkthrough or the Samsung QR walkthrough. Still no signal after landing? Work through the no-signal checklist.
Most visitors arrive by ferry from Guadeloupe or Martinique, an hour and a half to two hours each way, or by regional flight into Douglas-Charles airport on the north-east coast, about 45 minutes to an hour from Roseau. Taxis meet both; the minibuses that link the villages run for cash and stop by early evening. Rental cars need a local permit, and the roads are steep, winding, and worth a 4x4.
The Eastern Caribbean dollar is the currency, US dollars are accepted in most places, and cards work at hotels and the larger restaurants; the villages, the buses, and the guides want cash. Roseau's market, the botanical gardens, and the waterfront are the town.
The Boiling Lake hike is the island's signature day, six to eight hours with a guide through the Valley of Desolation, and none of it has signal beyond the first hour. Trafalgar Falls, Titou Gorge, Emerald Pool, and the Middleham Falls are shorter and closer to the road; the Waitukubuli National Trail runs the length of the island in 14 segments for the serious.
Flow's 4G covers Roseau, Portsmouth, and the coast road; the interior drops out on every network. Download the trail, save the guide's number, and agree a return time before you set off.
Champagne Reef's volcanic bubbles are the snorkel; the sperm whales that live off the west coast year-round are the boat trip, booked with the dive shops in Roseau by message. Portsmouth's Indian River rowboats and Cabrits National Park fill the north. On the water, the signal fades a mile out, as everywhere in the Caribbean.
Scotts Head, at the southern tip, is the snorkel from the beach and the view back up the coast; the Kalinago Territory on the east coast is the Caribbean's last indigenous reserve, with a cultural village and a coast road worth the drive. Both have signal at the road and none once you're in the water or the forest.
Dominica is on the Caribbean plan, 25 islands and destinations on one plan that also covers Guadeloupe and Martinique, the two French islands the ferries connect it to; the phone switches networks by itself at each port, and both French islands have 5G. Dominica is not on the Global plan, so a traveler carrying the Global plan needs a Dominica plan or the Caribbean plan here. Read do I need a new plan for every country? for the detail.
Dominica is wet, which is the point, with the rainforest at its greenest from June to November and the hurricane risk highest from August to October; the ferries and flights post changes to their apps first. Cruise ships call at Roseau in winter, and a port day works on a one-day plan that starts counting as you come ashore. The World Creole Music Festival in October and Carnival before Lent are the calendar's high points.
Your plan connects to Flow on 4G LTE. There is no 5G on this plan. Coverage holds in Roseau, Portsmouth, and along the west and east coast roads. Your phone picks the network automatically once the plan is on; there is nothing to choose by hand.
In the interior, on the trails, and on the boats, expect no signal on any network. Save what you need in town.
Most phones sold since 2019 support eSIM, including iPhone XS and later and most Android flagships from the same window. Check yours before you add a plan; it takes a few seconds. On iPhone, go to Settings, General, About and look for an EID or Available SIM. On Android, go to Settings, Network & Internet, SIMs and look for an option to add an eSIM. On Samsung, dial *#06# and look for an EID.
Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. If you're not sure, carrier-locked vs unlocked: how to tell shows you where to look.
Adding a Dominica plan doesn't touch your regular SIM. Calls and texts on your usual number keep working exactly as before. The new plan handles data while you're there, and most phones run both at once without you doing anything else. Bank codes and two-factor texts still arrive on your home number, as long as that line stays switched on.
On an island the alternatives are thin: a home-carrier roaming pass that treats every island as a new country, a local SIM from a shop that closes early, or resort Wi-Fi that stops at the pool. A Dominica plan added at home beats all three: one price agreed before you fly, live the second you land, and a Caribbean plan if the trip takes in more than one island.
