Quali viaggiatori quali sono le domande che ci vengono poste più spesso?
49: Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, the Isle of Man, Italy, Jersey, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK, Ukraine, and Vatican City. Details in does a region plan cover every country in it?
Yes, both, and Turkey. It does not cover Andorra, Monaco, Montenegro, the Faroe Islands, or Guernsey, which have their own plans, or Kosovo, which is not a KnowRoaming destination.
Yes. Keep data roaming on for the KnowRoaming line, give the phone a minute after the crossing, and it joins the local partner network on its own. If it doesn't, airplane mode on for 30 seconds and off again forces a fresh search.
In 43 of the 49 countries. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Gibraltar, and Ukraine run on 4G LTE. If the phone hasn't connected a minute after landing, work through the no-signal checklist.
An unlimited plan, with a daily high-speed allowance, covers navigation, bookings, calls, and a laptop on the hotspot for a whole month and works out to the lowest daily rate. Add or top up from the app anywhere on the route.
A fixed plan costs less overall; an unlimited plan (a daily high-speed allowance, then slower) works out to a lower daily rate the longer you stay. The price depends on how much data you want and how many days you're staying; every current option and price is in the plan selector at the top of this page.
Expect gaps. Europe is densely covered, and the gaps are the predictable ones: the high Alps and Pyrenees above the resort bases, the Scottish Highlands and Norwegian fjords between towns, the Greek island ferries, and the tunnels on the fast lines.
Five KnowRoaming destinations in Europe are sold as their own plans and are not on this one: Andorra, Monaco, Montenegro, the Faroe Islands, and Guernsey. Andorra and Monaco catch people out, since both are surrounded by countries the plan covers; add the country's own plan to the same eSIM for that leg.
Europe eSIM for multi-country trips: 49 countries, one plan, no borders
Set it up before you fly. It's live the moment you land, nothing to check, nothing to remember.
Already with us? Get the app on the App Store or Google Play.
A Europe eSIM that crosses borders with you is the point of this plan. A European trip that takes in three countries used to mean three SIMs, or a home-carrier roaming pass that reset at every border. The Europe plan puts 49 countries on one eSIM, from Portugal to Turkey and Iceland to Cyprus, the UK and Switzerland included, with the phone switching networks by itself each time you cross. Add it at home, on Wi-Fi, and it's live the moment you land in the first of them.
Below: how the Europe plan works, how to set it up before you fly, exactly which countries it covers and which it doesn't, and what to expect from coverage in the cities, on the trains, and in the mountains.
Most travel eSIMs make you start over for every country, which in Europe means a new QR code every few days. KnowRoaming doesn't. You add the KnowRoaming eSIM, called KR.One, to your phone once, and from then on each trip is a plan you add to it: Europe now, Italy in the spring, the whole continent on a Europe plan when the itinerary gets ambitious. Nothing to scan again, nothing to delete when you get home.
The plan's days start when you turn it on and connect in any country on the plan, not at checkout. Buy it weeks ahead, add it at home, and a delayed flight costs you nothing. The full rule is in what plan validity means and when it starts.
Choose a fixed plan for a set amount of data at the lowest overall price, or an unlimited plan when you'd rather not count. Unlimited plans give you a daily high-speed allowance, then a slower speed until the allowance resets the next day. If a fixed plan runs low, top up in the app and the extra data lands on the same eSIM. Hotspot works on every plan, fixed or unlimited; a laptop or a travel partner's phone shares the same eSIM data.
See it in two minutes: Meet KR.One, iPhone setup with KR.One, or Samsung setup with KR.One.
Do this at home on Wi-Fi. It takes about a minute.
Before you leave
- Get the KnowRoaming app (available on iOS and Android) and choose your Europe plan.
- Tap Add. First time on this phone? The app adds KR.One and your Europe plan together. Already have KR.One? Only the plan is added, with nothing to scan.
- Leave data roaming off on the KnowRoaming line until you land, and turn it off on your home line too so it doesn't run up charges in the background. Steps are in turning off roaming on your home line.
When you land
- Turn the plan on in the app, then turn data roaming on for the KnowRoaming line. That setting lives in your phone, so the app can't flip it for you.
- Give the phone a minute to find the network. If nothing happens, turn airplane mode on for 30 seconds and off again.
Prefer a QR code? The checkout page and your confirmation email both carry one; scan it from your phone's settings. Every tap is in how to add your plan, start to finish, or watch the iPhone QR walkthrough or the Samsung QR walkthrough. Still no signal after landing? Work through the no-signal checklist.
Western Europe: Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and the UK, with Jersey and the Isle of Man.
Southern Europe: Spain, Portugal, Italy, Malta, Greece, Cyprus, Gibraltar, San Marino, and Vatican City.
The Nordics: Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland.
Central Europe and the Alps: Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, and Slovenia.
The Baltics and the east: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania.
The Balkans and beyond: Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan.
That's 49 countries on one plan with one data balance. The full list is also on the plan card above, under "Where this eSIM works"; check it against your route before you buy.
Kosovo is not a KnowRoaming destination. Read crossing into a border country your plan doesn't include before a route that crosses into a country the plan doesn't include.
Paris to Amsterdam, Vienna to Budapest, Copenhagen to Malmö, London to Brussels on the Eurostar: the plan switches networks by itself as the train crosses, and there is nothing to change in the app. Keep data roaming on for the KnowRoaming line the whole trip, since that is the one setting the app can't change for you, and give the phone a minute after a crossing; if it hasn't found the new network, airplane mode on and off forces a fresh search. The days keep counting from the first time you connected, wherever that was.
In every country your Europe eSIM connects to a local partner network, with 5G in 43 of the 49 and 4G LTE in the rest, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Gibraltar, and Ukraine. Your phone picks the network automatically once the plan is on; there is nothing to choose by hand.
Europe is densely covered, and the gaps are the predictable ones: the high Alps and Pyrenees above the resort bases, the Scottish Highlands and Norwegian fjords between towns, the Greek island ferries, and the tunnels on the fast lines. Download maps for those legs and expect the signal back at the next town.
A month on the trains is the trip the Europe plan was made for. An unlimited plan, with a daily high-speed allowance and slower after, covers navigation, bookings, video calls, and a laptop on the hotspot for the whole route; a fixed plan suits a two-country week. Both are on the plan selector at the top of this page, and a plan can be topped up or a new one added from the app anywhere on the route.
July and August fill the trains, the ferries, and the museums' timed-ticket queues, and the shoulder months either side are the ones to aim for; December is the Christmas-market season in the German-speaking countries and the Nordics. Ferry and rail timetables thin in winter on the islands and in the north; check them in the operators' apps rather than trusting summer memory.
Most current iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, and Google Pixel phones support eSIM. Check yours before you add a plan; it takes a few seconds. On iPhone, go to Settings, General, About and look for an EID or Available SIM. On Android, go to Settings, Network & Internet, SIMs and look for an option to add an eSIM. On Samsung, dial *#06# and look for an EID.
Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. If you're not sure, the same check shows you where to look.
Keep your home number too
Adding a Europe plan doesn't touch your regular SIM. Calls and texts on your usual number keep working exactly as before. The new plan handles data while you're there, and most phones run both at once without you doing anything else. Bank codes and two-factor texts still arrive on your home number, as long as that line stays switched on.
One plan. No roaming surprises. Live the moment you land.
For a European trip the real competition isn't another eSIM. It's your home carrier's roaming add-on, priced for a weekend and throttled by midweek; the SIM counter in arrivals, after the flight, with a queue; and café Wi-Fi, in a country where even the bus ticket is in an app. A Europe plan added at home beats all three: one price agreed before you fly, live the second you land, and a Europe plan waiting if the trip grows.
Real travelers rate KnowRoaming 4.5 out of 5 on Reviews.io. More than a decade in travel connectivity, more than 200 destinations, and support that doesn't clock off: WhatsApp and live chat, any time, any day.

Destinazioni da sogno, dati in tempo reale.
The roaming went really well in the begining but towards the end the data started depleting very fast even though I was not using it too much
