A second device on the same trip: What it needs

Each device needs its own eSIM and its own plan. A KnowRoaming eSIM belongs to the device it's added to, so a phone and a tablet traveling together are set up separately. Both come from one account: when you buy, choose Add another device and plan, name the second device, and set it up on that device. A laptop needs none of this; tether it to your phone.

More detail

Under My plans, every device on your account is listed with its plans, so you can top up or add a plan for each one. A tablet works the same way as a phone, with no phone number to think about. See iPad, tablet, or watch: which devices can take a plan. For a companion's phone, it's usually simpler for them to have their own account and plan.

A laptop, or a device that's only sometimes online, doesn't need a plan. Turn on your phone's hotspot and it uses your phone's data; see Hotspot and tethering on your KnowRoaming plan. Your plan starts when you connect in a supported country, not when you buy. Your validity days count from that first connection. Unused data expires at the end of your validity period. It doesn't roll over.
