Voicemail while traveling
Voicemail belongs to your home line and your home carrier, and nothing about it moves to your KnowRoaming plan. Your messages are still there. What can stop is the visual list refreshing, because it needs your home line's own data, which you switched off. Dial in instead.

Visual voicemail, the list you tap through, is loaded by your home carrier over your home line's data. With data roaming off on that line, as it should be abroad, the list may not refresh and new messages may not show. The messages themselves are stored by your carrier and are all still there.
To hear them: call your own number, or open the Phone app's voicemail tab and follow the audio prompts. Your home carrier charges its roaming rate for that call, the same as any call on your home line abroad. Keep the home line switched on, or calls go straight to voicemail and you won't see the missed call either.
Your plan is data only, with no phone number, calls, or SMS. Calls and texts keep using your home number.

Since an eSIM functions similarly to a traditional SIM, your service provider may swiftly deactivate your service in the event that you misplace or have your device stolen. Do not hesitate to contact them immediately.
Be sure that your network plan allows for using it as a Personal Hotspot and that your provider has enabled it if you are unable to locate or activate it. To reconnect another device to Personal Hotspot, you must first restart both the iPhone or iPad that is providing the service and the second device. Verify that you are using the most recent version of Apple's iOS or iPadOS.
