What happens if you dispute a charge with your bank

Message us before you file a dispute. Most charge problems are a hold that drops off, a duplicate we refund, or a refund case under the policy. We resolve those in days. A bank dispute takes weeks, and while the charge is contested we may have to pause the plan it paid for.

More detail

A dispute, sometimes called a chargeback, is run by your bank, not by us. Your bank reverses the charge while it investigates and asks us to respond. The process typically takes several weeks, and the outcome is the bank's. During that time the plan the charge paid for counts as unpaid, so it may be suspended even if you're still using it.

Before you go that route, check the three common cases. A second line on your statement is usually a hold: see Charged twice? Here's the fix. A charge you didn't expect is usually a top-up: see Auto top-up: how it works and how to turn it off. A plan you never used is a refund case: see Refund policy in plain language. Then message us with the order number and what happened. Save the dispute for a charge we couldn't resolve.
