Coverage in Australia and New Zealand

Each country has its own plan, or the Oceania plan covers both on one eSIM; both are also on the Asia plan. Australia uses the kroly APN, so set it before you connect; New Zealand needs none.

More detail

Both countries have strong networks around the cities and along main routes, and long stretches of outback and back-country where the signal drops away entirely. For a road trip or a hike, download maps and bookings before you set off, and treat a signal out there as a bonus. The APN table and the path for your phone are in your add guide under Setting your APN.

A trip that takes in both countries is what the Oceania plan is for. If it continues to Southeast Asia or Japan, the Asia plan covers the whole route on one plan.

The signal is strongest around cities, airports, and main routes and thins in rural and remote areas, the same as at home. Each country's page says where, and names the networks your plan uses there. See What to expect from coverage, city to countryside. Your plan starts when you connect in a supported country, not when you buy. Your validity days count from that first connection. Unused data expires at the end of your validity period. It doesn't roll over.
