How KnowRoaming picks a network when several are available

Your phone chooses, not us. It favors the strongest signal it can find where you are. That isn't always the fastest network at that moment, only the easiest to reach, and it can change as you move between neighborhoods.

More detail

In many countries more than one local network accepts your plan. The choice is made where you stand, so the name in your status bar can differ between two visits to the same country. That's also why we don't promise which network you'll land on. Leave automatic selection on for everyday use. It's what lets a regional plan switch at a border without a gap.

If a connection feels slow in one spot, you can pick a different network yourself. Switch automatic back on before you leave the country. See Switch networks manually when the automatic pick is weak. If the strongest network there is slow for everyone, that's the local network, not your plan.
