"This code has already been used" error

This isn't a fault. Each QR code adds one eSIM to one device, once. Most of the time the plan is already on this phone and the first attempt only looked like it failed; check your SIM list before you do anything else.

Check first

Open your SIM list. iPhone: Settings > Cellular. Samsung: Settings > Connections > SIM manager. Other Android phones: Settings > Network & internet > SIMs. A KnowRoaming line there means the add worked. Leave it off until you land, then follow Turn on data roaming for your plan on iPhone, Turn on data roaming for your plan on Samsung, or Turn on data roaming for your plan on Android.

Causes, in order

The plan is already on this phone

The most common case, especially when the first attempt showed an error partway. If the line is in your SIM list, you're done.

You're adding it to a second device

An eSIM belongs to the device it was first added to. A second phone or tablet needs its own eSIM and its own plan. In the app, go to My plans, tap Add another device and plan, and set it up on that device. See A second device on the same trip: What it needs.

You deleted the eSIM from your phone

A deleted eSIM can't be restored with the same code. Don't keep retrying. Message us with the details below; we'll check which device the code was used on and tell you what happens next.
