Quali viaggiatori quali sono le domande che ci vengono poste più spesso?
Yes. The Caribbean plan covers Barbados and 24 other islands and destinations, including Saint Lucia, Grenada, and Saint Vincent, and your phone switches networks by itself as you move between them. Details in does a region plan cover every country in it?
In Barbados your plan connects to Flow on 4G LTE, which handles maps, messaging, video calls, and streaming; 5G is not part of this plan. Your phone joins the network automatically once the plan is switched on. If it hasn't connected a minute after landing, work through the no-signal checklist.
An unlimited plan, with a daily high-speed allowance and slower speeds after that, covers video calls and hotspot use over a long stay and works out to the lowest daily rate. Top up or add a new plan from the app whenever one runs out; the eSIM stays on the phone.
Yes. The plan starts counting when you switch it on and connect as you disembark in Bridgetown, so a one-day plan covers a port day. It won't work at sea; turn it off again when you sail.
A fixed plan costs less overall; an unlimited plan (a daily high-speed allowance, then slower) works out to a lower daily rate the longer you stay. The price depends on how much data you want and how many days you're staying; every current option and price is in the plan selector at the top of this page.
In the app: open My plans, choose your Barbados plan, and tap Top up. The extra data lands on the same eSIM within a few seconds, with nothing new to add or scan. Full steps are in topping up data without reinstalling the eSIM.
Weeks ahead. The plan's days don't start until you turn it on and connect, so a plan bought a month before departure is still complete when you land. Plans need to be activated within 90 days of purchase. See what plan validity means and when it starts.
Less of it. Flow's 4G LTE is strong on the west and south coasts and in Bridgetown and holds on the interior roads, but on the Atlantic coast and out on the catamarans the signal thins. Save what you need before you head east.
Barbados eSIM for beach weeks, Crop Over, and the Welcome Stamp
Set it up before you fly. It's live the moment you land, nothing to check, nothing to remember.

Barbados is small enough to cross in an hour and busy enough that the Friday fish fry, the cricket, and the Crop Over fêtes all sell out on the phone. The best eSIM for Barbados is the one that's working when you walk out of Grantley Adams International, so the taxi and the first booking are done before the heat hits.
Below: how a Barbados plan works, how to set it up before you fly, what to expect on the west and south coasts and out on the Atlantic side, and what a longer stay on the Welcome Stamp needs from a plan.
Island trips rarely stay on one island, and most travel eSIMs make you start over at every stop. KnowRoaming doesn't. You add the KnowRoaming eSIM, called KR.One, to your phone once, then add a plan per trip: Barbados this time, the whole Caribbean plan when you're hopping between islands, somewhere else entirely next winter. Nothing to scan again, nothing to delete when you get home.
The plan's days start when you turn it on and connect in Barbados, not at checkout. Buy it weeks ahead, add it at home, and a delayed flight costs you nothing. The full rule is in what plan validity means and when it starts.
Choose a fixed plan for a set amount of data at the lowest overall price, or an unlimited plan when you'd rather not count. Unlimited plans give you a daily high-speed allowance, then a slower speed until the allowance resets the next day. If a fixed plan runs low, top up in the app and the extra data lands on the same eSIM. Hotspot works on every plan, fixed or unlimited; a laptop or a travel partner's phone shares the same eSIM data.
See it in two minutes: Meet KR.One, iPhone setup with KR.One, or Samsung setup with KR.One.
Do this at home on Wi-Fi. It takes about a minute.
Before you leave
- Get the KnowRoaming app (available on iOS and Android) and choose your Barbados plan.
- Tap Add. First time on this phone? The app adds KR.One and your Barbados plan together. Already have KR.One? Only the plan is added, with nothing to scan.
- Leave data roaming off on the KnowRoaming line until you land, and turn it off on your home line too so it doesn't run up charges in the background. Steps are in turning off roaming on your home line.
When you land
- Turn the plan on in the app, then turn data roaming on for the KnowRoaming line. That setting lives in your phone, so the app can't flip it for you.
- Give the phone a minute to find the network. If nothing happens, turn airplane mode on for 30 seconds and off again.
Prefer a QR code? The checkout page and your confirmation email both carry one; scan it from your phone's settings. Every tap is in how to add your plan, start to finish, or watch the iPhone QR walkthrough or the Samsung QR walkthrough. Still no signal after landing? Work through the no-signal checklist.
Grantley Adams International is on the south coast, 15 to 30 minutes from Bridgetown and the west-coast hotels. Taxis charge fixed rates by zone, and the blue government buses and the privately run ZR vans cover the island for a flat cash fare. Rental cars need a local permit, sold at the counter, and traffic drives on the left.
The Barbados dollar is pegged at two to one to the US dollar, and US dollars are accepted nearly everywhere. Cards work in hotels, restaurants, and supermarkets; the vans, the rum shops, and the market want cash.
The west coast is the calm one, from Holetown up to Speightstown, with the swim-with-turtles catamaran trips leaving from Bridgetown's Carlisle Bay. The south coast, from Hastings to Oistins, has the surf, the nightlife, and the Friday fish fry at Oistins that the whole island turns up for.
The east coast is the Atlantic: Bathsheba's boulders and the surf at the Soup Bowl, with fewer people, fewer bars, and a thinner signal. It's a half-day drive round the island; download the map before you set off inland.
Crop Over runs from June to the first Monday in August, when Grand Kadooment closes it with the costume bands parading from the National Stadium to Spring Garden; fête tickets and band registration live online and sell out early. Cricket at Kensington Oval draws visiting fans in the winter and spring, with tickets sold through the ground's site.
Outside the festival weeks, the Oistins fish fry every Friday is the fixture, the Holetown Festival in February marks the island's first settlement, and the rum shops are open most evenings everywhere. Barbados sits at the eastern edge of the island chain and sees fewer direct hurricane hits than islands further west, but June to November is still the wet season, and airlines and hotels post any change to their apps first.
Barbados runs a 12-month visa for people who want to work remotely from the island, and the combination of good 4G, a direct London and New York flight schedule, and a sensible time zone for both makes it popular. Apartment Wi-Fi varies; the plan's hotspot covers the days it drops. For a stay of months, an unlimited plan, with a daily high-speed allowance, is the right buy.
Barbados is on the Caribbean plan, 25 islands and destinations on one plan, with Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Grenada an hour's flight away and covered by the same plan; the phone switches networks by itself when you land. A Barbados-only plan stops at the coast. Read do I need a new plan for every country? for the detail.
Your plan connects to Flow on 4G LTE. There is no 5G on this plan. Coverage is strong on the west and south coasts and in Bridgetown, and holds on the roads across the interior. Your phone picks the network automatically once the plan is on; there is nothing to choose by hand.
On the Atlantic coast and out on the catamarans, expect the signal to thin. Save what you need before you head that way.
Most current iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, and Google Pixel phones support eSIM. Check yours before you add a plan; it takes a few seconds. On iPhone, go to Settings, General, About and look for an EID or Available SIM. On Android, go to Settings, Network & Internet, SIMs and look for an option to add an eSIM. On Samsung, dial *#06# and look for an EID.
Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. If you're not sure, the same check shows you where to look.
Keep your home number too
Adding a Barbados plan doesn't touch your regular SIM. Calls and texts on your usual number keep working exactly as before. The new plan handles data while you're there, and most phones run both at once without you doing anything else. Bank codes and two-factor texts still arrive on your home number, as long as that line stays switched on.
One plan. No roaming surprises. Live the moment you land.
On an island the alternatives are thin: a home-carrier roaming pass that treats every island as a new country, a local SIM from a shop that closes early, or resort Wi-Fi that stops at the pool. A Barbados plan added at home beats all three: one price agreed before you fly, live the second you land, and a Caribbean plan if the trip takes in more than one island.
Real travelers rate KnowRoaming 4.5 out of 5 on Reviews.io. More than a decade in travel connectivity, more than 200 destinations, and support that doesn't clock off: WhatsApp and live chat, any time, any day.

Destinazioni da sogno, dati in tempo reale.
We have used KnowRomaing for at least the last two years for multiple trips abroad, mainly in Europe. The first time we used it I had an issue that it would not work even though I had installed it. The help desk on What's App was awesome and very responsive. They quickly figured out my phone was locked by cell service provider. They gave me instructions on contacting my provider to unlock the phone and after that evertying worked as advertised. I have recommended KnowRoaming to multiple friends.

Works well, had no issues abroad.

Very good coverage for Istanbul. Just wish we able to carry over unused data and not have it expire.
