What travelers ask us most?
25: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, the Bahamas, Barbados, the Cayman Islands, Curaçao, Dominica, the Dominican Republic, French Guiana, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, Martinique, Montserrat, Panama, Puerto Rico, Saint Barthélemy, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Martin (French part), Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the Turks and Caicos Islands, the British Virgin Islands, and the US Virgin Islands. The same list is on the plan card. Details in does a region plan cover every country in it?
No. None of the three is a KnowRoaming destination. The French side of St. Martin is covered; the Dutch side, where the airport is, is not. Bermuda, Haiti, and Trinidad and Tobago are sold as their own plans.
Yes. Keep data roaming on for the KnowRoaming line, give the phone a minute after landing, and it joins the local partner network on its own. If it doesn't, airplane mode on for 30 seconds and off again forces a fresh search.
On eight of the 25: Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Martin, Saint Barthélemy, and French Guiana. Everywhere else the plan runs on 4G LTE. If the phone hasn't connected a minute after landing, work through the no-signal checklist.
For the port days, yes: one plan covers every covered island the ship calls at, and it picks up each local network by itself. It won't work at sea, so choose a plan length for the number of port days and switch it off when you sail.
A fixed plan costs less overall; an unlimited plan (a daily high-speed allowance, then slower) works out to a lower daily rate the longer you stay. The price depends on how much data you want and how many days you're staying; every current option and price is in the plan selector at the top of this page.
Not reliably. Coverage clusters around the main towns and the resort coasts, while the interior hills, the far beaches, and every boat lose signal. Expect a day at sea to be offline, and save the boat operators' numbers first.
Three KnowRoaming destinations in the region are sold as their own plans and are not on this one: Bermuda, Haiti, and Trinidad and Tobago. Add the island's own plan to the same eSIM for that leg; it takes about a minute in the app.
Caribbean eSIM for island hopping, cruise stops, and 25 destinations
Set it up before you fly. It's live the moment you land, nothing to check, nothing to remember.
Already with us? Get the app on the App Store or Google Play.
A Caribbean eSIM that hops islands with you is the point of this plan. Island hopping used to mean a new SIM at every airport and a new registration form at every counter. The Caribbean plan puts 25 islands and destinations on one eSIM, from the Bahamas down through the Leewards and the Windwards to Aruba and Curaçao, with the phone switching networks by itself each time you land. Add it at home, on Wi-Fi, and it's live the moment you step off the first plane.
Below: how the Caribbean plan works, how to set it up before you fly, exactly which islands it covers and which it doesn't, and what to expect from coverage on the beaches, on the boats, and on cruise days.
Island trips rarely stay on one island, and most travel eSIMs make you start over at every stop. KnowRoaming doesn't. You add the KnowRoaming eSIM, called KR.One, to your phone once, then add a plan per trip: the Caribbean this time, the whole Caribbean plan when you're hopping between islands, somewhere else entirely next winter. Nothing to scan again, nothing to delete when you get home.
The plan's days start when you turn it on and connect on any island on the plan, not at checkout. Buy it weeks ahead, add it at home, and a delayed flight costs you nothing. The full rule is in what plan validity means and when it starts.
Choose a fixed plan for a set amount of data at the lowest overall price, or an unlimited plan when you'd rather not count. Unlimited plans give you a daily high-speed allowance, then a slower speed until the allowance resets the next day. If a fixed plan runs low, top up in the app and the extra data lands on the same eSIM. Hotspot works on every plan, fixed or unlimited; a laptop or a travel partner's phone shares the same eSIM data.
See it in two minutes: Meet KR.One, iPhone setup with KR.One, or Samsung setup with KR.One.
Do this at home on Wi-Fi. It takes about a minute.
Before you leave
- Get the KnowRoaming app (available on iOS and Android) and choose your Caribbean plan.
- Tap Add. First time on this phone? The app adds KR.One and your Caribbean plan together. Already have KR.One? Only the plan is added, with nothing to scan.
- Leave data roaming off on the KnowRoaming line until you land, and turn it off on your home line too so it doesn't run up charges in the background. Steps are in turning off roaming on your home line.
When you land
- Turn the plan on in the app, then turn data roaming on for the KnowRoaming line. That setting lives in your phone, so the app can't flip it for you.
- Give the phone a minute to find the network. If nothing happens, turn airplane mode on for 30 seconds and off again.
Prefer a QR code? The checkout page and your confirmation email both carry one; scan it from your phone's settings. Every tap is in how to add your plan, start to finish, or watch the iPhone QR walkthrough or the Samsung QR walkthrough. Still no signal after landing? Work through the no-signal checklist.
The north: the Bahamas, the Turks and Caicos Islands, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico.
The Virgin Islands and the Leewards: the British Virgin Islands, the US Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Saint Martin (French part), Saint Barthélemy, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, Montserrat, and Guadeloupe.
The Windwards: Dominica, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, and Barbados.
The south and the mainland: Aruba, Curaçao, Panama, and French Guiana.
That's 25 on one plan with one data balance. The full list is also on the plan card above, under "Where this eSIM works"; check it against your route before you buy.
Three KnowRoaming destinations in the region are sold as their own plans and are not on this one: Bermuda, Haiti, and Trinidad and Tobago. Add the island's own plan to the same eSIM for that leg; it takes about a minute in the app.
Cuba, Bonaire, and the Dutch side of St. Martin, Sint Maarten, are not KnowRoaming destinations, and the last one matters: Princess Juliana Airport, the hub for Anguilla, Saint Barthélemy, and the French side, is on the Dutch side, so the plan won't connect until you cross to Saint Martin (French part) or land on the next island. Read crossing into a border country your plan doesn't include before a route that passes through a place the plan doesn't include.
The plan switches networks by itself as you land: the interisland flights between Antigua, Saint Kitts, and Guadeloupe, the ferries between Saint Lucia and Martinique or Saint Vincent and Bequia, the short hop from Curaçao to Aruba. There is nothing to change in the app at each arrival, from Nassau to Bridgetown, and the days keep counting from the first time you connected, wherever that was.
Two habits make it painless. Keep data roaming on for the KnowRoaming line the whole trip, since that is the one setting the app can't change for you, and give the phone a minute after each landing, whether in Antigua or Grenada; if it hasn't found the new network, airplane mode on and off forces a fresh search.
A cruise that calls at Nassau, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico can run on one plan for the whole week: it starts counting when you first switch it on and connect ashore, it won't work at sea, and it picks up the local network at each port on its own. Turn the plan on as you disembark in San Juan, Nassau, or Bridgetown and off when you sail, and choose a plan length that matches the number of port days rather than the cruise.
On every island your Caribbean eSIM connects to a local partner network, with 5G on eight of the 25 (Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Martin, Saint Barthélemy, and French Guiana) and 4G LTE on the rest. Once the plan is on, your phone picks the network automatically, from the Bahamas to Barbados; there is nothing to choose by hand.
Coverage clusters around the main towns and the resort coasts. Interior hills, the far beaches, and every boat lose signal. Download maps, save the boat operators' numbers, and expect a day at sea, off the Grenadines or the Virgin Islands, to be offline.
June to November is hurricane season across the region, with the real risk from August to October and the southern islands, Aruba, Curaçao, and Grenada among them, sitting mostly outside the belt. Airlines, ferries, and hotels post changes to their apps first, which is the practical reason to keep the plan on even on a beach day. December to April is the busy season, when the interisland flights and the boat trips need booking ahead.
Most current iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, and Google Pixel phones support eSIM. Check yours before you add a plan; it takes a few seconds. On iPhone, go to Settings, General, About and look for an EID or Available SIM. On Android, go to Settings, Network & Internet, SIMs and look for an option to add an eSIM. On Samsung, dial *#06# and look for an EID.
Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. If you're not sure, the same check shows you where to look.
Keep your home number too
Adding a Caribbean plan doesn't touch your regular SIM. Calls and texts on your usual number keep working exactly as before. The new plan handles data while you're there, and most phones run both at once without you doing anything else. Bank codes and two-factor texts still arrive on your home number, as long as that line stays switched on.
One plan. No roaming surprises. Live the moment you land.
On an island the alternatives are thin: a home-carrier roaming pass that treats every island as a new country, a local SIM from a shop that closes early, or resort Wi-Fi that stops at the pool. A Caribbean plan added at home beats all three: one price agreed before you fly, live the second you land, and a Caribbean plan if the trip takes in more than one island.
Real travelers rate KnowRoaming 4.5 out of 5 on Reviews.io. More than a decade in travel connectivity, more than 200 destinations, and support that doesn't clock off: WhatsApp and live chat, any time, any day.

Trusted by frequent travelers.
Very good coverage for Istanbul. Just wish we able to carry over unused data and not have it expire.
