Coverage in Africa: What's currently supported

Each country has its own plan, or the Africa plan covers 31 countries on one eSIM and switches networks by itself at each border. South Africa, Mauritius, and Morocco use the knowroaming APN. Set it before you connect.

More detail

The full list is on the plan page under Where this eSIM works. It doesn't cover every country on the continent, so check your route against the list. A country that isn't on it may still have its own plan, or may be one we don't cover yet. See Destinations we don't currently cover.

The signal is strongest around capitals and big cities and thins fast in reserves, deserts, and rainforest. If a safari or a park is on the itinerary, download maps and booking details before you head in. Treat a signal inside the park as a bonus. The APN table and the path for your phone are in your add guide under Setting your APN.

The signal is strongest around cities, airports, and main routes and thins in rural and remote areas, the same as at home. Each country's page says where, and names the networks your plan uses there. See What to expect from coverage, city to countryside. Your plan starts when you connect in a supported country, not when you buy. Your validity days count from that first connection. Unused data expires at the end of your validity period. It doesn't roll over.
