Rename a line so you can tell it apart

A line label is the name your phone shows for each line, so "KnowRoaming" and "Home" read more clearly than "Line 1" and "Line 2" in your settings and status bar. It doesn't change how the line works, and you can set or change it any time after the add, in a few taps.

Before you start

Where the label is, by phone. iPhone: Settings > Cellular > your KnowRoaming eSIM > Cellular Plan Label. Samsung: Settings > Connections > SIM manager > your KnowRoaming eSIM > Name. Other Android phones: Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > your KnowRoaming eSIM > the name field.

Steps

  1. Open the label field, at the path above for your phone.
  2. Choose a preset such as Travel, or type your own. "KnowRoaming" does the job.
  3. Save, or go back; the new name applies straight away.

Good to know

  • The label shows in your status bar, in the data picker, and next to the data roaming toggle, which is where you want to be sure you're touching the right line. A clear label means you never switch roaming on for your home SIM by mistake.
  • Your phone may have labeled the line Primary, Secondary, or Travel on its own. That's a label, not a fault; the KnowRoaming line is the one you added.
  • You can also rename the device itself in the app, under My plans, which helps when you manage several devices.
  • Your plan is data only, with no phone number, calls, or SMS. Calls and texts keep using your home number.
