ماذا يقول المسافرون ما هي الأسئلة الأكثر شيوعًا التي تطرحونها علينا؟
Yes. The Caribbean plan covers the Cayman Islands and 24 other islands and destinations, including Jamaica and the Bahamas, and your phone switches networks by itself as you move between them. Details in does a region plan cover every country in it?
In the Cayman Islands your plan connects to Flow, with 5G in George Town and along Seven Mile Beach and 4G LTE elsewhere. Your phone joins the network automatically once the plan is switched on. If it hasn't connected a minute after landing, work through the no-signal checklist.
Yes, the same plan covers all three islands, with 4G around the settlements and thin coverage at the dive sites. Book the flights and the dive boats before you fly out.
Yes. The plan starts counting when you switch it on and connect as you come ashore in George Town, so a one-day plan covers a port day. It won't work at sea; turn it off again when you sail.
It depends on how much data you want and how many days you're staying. A fixed plan costs less overall; an unlimited plan (5 GB a day at full speed, then slower) works out to a lower daily rate the longer you stay. Every current option and price is in the plan selector at the top of this page.
In the app: open My plans, choose your Cayman Islands plan, and tap Top up. The extra data lands on the same eSIM within a few seconds, with nothing new to add or scan. Full steps are in topping up data without reinstalling the eSIM.
Weeks ahead. The plan's days don't start until you turn it on and connect, so a plan bought a month before departure is still complete when you land. Plans need to be activated within 90 days of purchase. See what plan validity means and when it starts.
If it's eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked, yes, which covers most phones sold since 2019. The one-minute check for iPhone, Android, and Samsung is in is my phone eSIM compatible?

Cayman Islands eSIM for Seven Mile Beach, Stingray City, and work trips
Set it up before you fly. It's live the moment you land, nothing to check, nothing to remember.
Already with us? Get the app on the App Store or Google Play.
Grand Cayman is a business island with a beach attached, and both halves run on a phone that works: the meeting in George Town, the boat to Stingray City, the dinner on Seven Mile Beach. The best eSIM for the Cayman Islands is the one that's live when you walk out of Owen Roberts International, so the taxi and the first booking are done before the humidity registers.
Below: how a Cayman Islands plan works, how to set it up before you fly, what to expect on Grand Cayman and the Sister Islands, and which plan fits when Jamaica or a cruise circuit is on the same trip.
Island trips rarely stay on one island, and most travel eSIMs make you start over at every stop. KnowRoaming doesn't. You add the KnowRoaming eSIM, called KR.One, to your phone once, then add a plan per trip: the Cayman Islands this time, the whole Caribbean plan when you're hopping between islands, somewhere else entirely next winter. Nothing to scan again, nothing to delete when you get home.
The plan's days start when you turn it on and connect in the Cayman Islands, not at checkout. Buy it weeks ahead, add it at home, and a delayed flight costs you nothing. The full rule is in what plan validity means and when it starts.
Choose a fixed plan for a set amount of data at the lowest overall price, or an unlimited plan when you'd rather not count. Unlimited plans give you 5 GB a day at full speed, then a slower speed until the allowance resets the next day. If a fixed plan runs low, top up in the app and the extra data lands on the same eSIM.
See it in two minutes: Meet KR.One, iPhone setup with KR.One, or Samsung setup with KR.One.
Do this at home on Wi-Fi. It takes about a minute.
Before you leave
- Get the KnowRoaming app (available on iOS and Android) and choose your Cayman Islands plan.
- Tap Add. First time on this phone? The app adds KR.One and your Cayman Islands plan together. Already have KR.One? Only the plan is added, with nothing to scan.
- Leave data roaming off on the KnowRoaming line until you land, and turn it off on your home line too so it doesn't run up charges in the background. Steps are in turning off roaming on your home line.
When you land
- Turn the plan on in the app, then turn data roaming on for the KnowRoaming line. That setting lives in your phone, so the app can't flip it for you.
- Give the phone a minute to find the network. If nothing happens, turn airplane mode on for 30 seconds and off again.
Prefer a QR code? The checkout page and your confirmation email both carry one; scan it from your phone's settings. Every tap, by device, is in adding your eSIM on iPhone, adding your eSIM on Android, and adding your eSIM on Samsung, or watch the iPhone QR walkthrough or the Samsung QR walkthrough. Still no signal after landing? Work through the no-signal checklist.
Owen Roberts International is minutes from George Town and Seven Mile Beach. Taxis run on fixed rates by zone; rental cars need a local permit, sold at the counter, and traffic drives on the left. The bus routes cover Seven Mile Beach and the east end for a cash fare.
The Cayman dollar is pegged to the US dollar and worth more than it, and US dollars are accepted everywhere at a fixed rate; cards work nearly everywhere. Prices are among the highest in the Caribbean, which is worth knowing before the first restaurant bill.
Seven Mile Beach is the strip, with the resorts, the condos, and the sunset bars; Stingray City, a sandbar in the North Sound where the rays gather, is the boat trip everyone takes, booked online and dependent on the weather. Rum Point on the far side of the sound, the Crystal Caves, and the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park's blue iguanas fill the other days.
Flow's 5G covers George Town, Seven Mile Beach, and the west; the east end is 4G. On the boats, the signal fades a mile out, and the sandbar itself is at the edge of coverage. Save the operator's number before you leave the dock.
The East End and Rum Point are the quiet side, an hour's drive from the beach strip, with the blowholes, the Cayman Crystal Caves, and the night kayak trips to the bioluminescent bay, which run on the dark of the moon and book out a week ahead.
The Sister Islands are a 40-minute Cayman Airways flight from Grand Cayman: Cayman Brac for its bluff and caves, Little Cayman for the diving at Bloody Bay Wall. Both are small, quiet, and thinner on coverage, with 4G around the settlements and little on the dive sites. Flights and dive boats book online; keep the confirmations on the phone.
Cayman Airways runs several flights a day, and the dive operators on both islands confirm pickups by message the evening before; a divemaster's number saved in the phone is worth more than any app.
George Town is a financial center, and a lot of visits are work: video calls from a hotel room, a laptop on the hotspot, a week or a month rather than a weekend. Flow's 5G handles that without trouble. For a stay of weeks, an unlimited plan, with 5 GB a day at full speed and slower after, is the right buy; a fixed plan suits a beach week. Both are on the plan selector at the top of this page.
George Town is a tender port for the big ships, and a port day works on a one-day plan that starts counting as you come ashore. Jamaica is an hour's flight and on the Caribbean plan, 25 islands and destinations on one plan that also covers the Caymans; the phone switches networks by itself when you land. A Cayman-only plan stops at the coast. Read do I need a new plan for every country? for the detail.
Your plan connects to Flow, with 5G in George Town and along Seven Mile Beach and 4G LTE across the rest of Grand Cayman and the Sister Islands. Your phone picks the network automatically once the plan is on; there is nothing to choose by hand.
On the boats, at the sandbar, and on the dive sites, expect the signal to fade. Save what you need before you leave the dock.
Most phones sold since 2019 support eSIM, including iPhone XS and later and most Android flagships from the same window. Check yours before you add a plan; it takes a few seconds. On iPhone, go to Settings, General, About and look for an EID or Available SIM. On Android, go to Settings, Network & Internet, SIMs and look for an option to add an eSIM. On Samsung, dial *#06# and look for an EID.
Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. If you're not sure, carrier-locked vs unlocked: how to tell shows you where to look.
Adding a Cayman Islands plan doesn't touch your regular SIM. Calls and texts on your usual number keep working exactly as before. The new plan handles data while you're there, and most phones run both at once without you doing anything else. Bank codes and two-factor texts still arrive on your home number, as long as that line stays switched on.
On an island the alternatives are thin: a home-carrier roaming pass that treats every island as a new country, a local SIM from a shop that closes early, or resort Wi-Fi that stops at the pool. A Cayman Islands plan added at home beats all three: one price agreed before you fly, live the second you land, and a Caribbean plan if the trip takes in more than one island.
