Yes. The Caribbean plan covers Grenada and 24 other islands and destinations, including Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, and Saint Lucia, and your phone switches networks by itself as you move between them. Details in does a region plan cover every country in it?
In Grenada your plan connects to Flow on 4G LTE, which handles maps, messaging, video calls, and streaming; 5G is not part of this plan. Your phone joins the network automatically once the plan is switched on. If it hasn't connected a minute after landing, work through the no-signal checklist.
Yes, the same plan covers Carriacou and Petite Martinique, with 4G in Hillsborough and thinner coverage on the beaches and the boats. Download the ferry ticket and the map before you sail.
Yes. The plan starts counting when you switch it on and connect as you come ashore in St. George's, so a one-day plan covers a port day. It won't work at sea; turn it off again when you sail.
It depends on how much data you want and how many days you're staying. A fixed plan costs less overall; an unlimited plan (5 GB a day at full speed, then slower) works out to a lower daily rate the longer you stay. Every current option and price is in the plan selector at the top of this page.
In the app: open My plans, choose your Grenada plan, and tap Top up. The extra data lands on the same eSIM within a few seconds, with nothing new to add or scan. Full steps are in topping up data without reinstalling the eSIM.
Weeks ahead. The plan's days don't start until you turn it on and connect, so a plan bought a month before departure is still complete when you land. Plans need to be activated within 90 days of purchase. See what plan validity means and when it starts.
If it's eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked, yes, which covers most phones sold since 2019. The one-minute check for iPhone, Android, and Samsung is in is my phone eSIM compatible?

Grenada eSIM for Grand Anse, the spice hills, and the hop to Carriacou
Set it up before you fly. It's live the moment you land, nothing to check, nothing to remember.

Grenada is a spice island with one of the Caribbean's best beaches, a capital built around a horseshoe harbor, and a sister island reached by a ferry that leaves when it says it will. The best eSIM for Grenada is the one that's working when you walk out of Maurice Bishop International, so the taxi and the first rum punch are sorted before the humidity settles in.
Below: how a Grenada plan works, how to set it up before you fly, what to expect on the beach, in the hills, and out on Carriacou, and which plan fits when the trip continues up the chain.
Island trips rarely stay on one island, and most travel eSIMs make you start over at every stop. KnowRoaming doesn't. You add the KnowRoaming eSIM, called KR.One, to your phone once, then add a plan per trip: Grenada this time, the whole Caribbean plan when you're hopping between islands, somewhere else entirely next winter. Nothing to scan again, nothing to delete when you get home.
The plan's days start when you turn it on and connect in Grenada, not at checkout. Buy it weeks ahead, add it at home, and a delayed flight costs you nothing. The full rule is in what plan validity means and when it starts.
Choose a fixed plan for a set amount of data at the lowest overall price, or an unlimited plan when you'd rather not count. Unlimited plans give you 5 GB a day at full speed, then a slower speed until the allowance resets the next day. If a fixed plan runs low, top up in the app and the extra data lands on the same eSIM.
See it in two minutes: Meet KR.One, iPhone setup with KR.One, or Samsung setup with KR.One.
Do this at home on Wi-Fi. It takes about a minute.
Before you leave
- Get the KnowRoaming app (available on iOS and Android) and choose your Grenada plan.
- Tap Add. First time on this phone? The app adds KR.One and your Grenada plan together. Already have KR.One? Only the plan is added, with nothing to scan.
- Leave data roaming off on the KnowRoaming line until you land, and turn it off on your home line too so it doesn't run up charges in the background. Steps are in turning off roaming on your home line.
When you land
- Turn the plan on in the app, then turn data roaming on for the KnowRoaming line. That setting lives in your phone, so the app can't flip it for you.
- Give the phone a minute to find the network. If nothing happens, turn airplane mode on for 30 seconds and off again.
Prefer a QR code? The checkout page and your confirmation email both carry one; scan it from your phone's settings. Every tap, by device, is in adding your eSIM on iPhone, adding your eSIM on Android, and adding your eSIM on Samsung, or watch the iPhone QR walkthrough or the Samsung QR walkthrough. Still no signal after landing? Work through the no-signal checklist.
Maurice Bishop International sits at the island's southern tip, about 15 minutes from Grand Anse and 20 from St. George's. Taxis run on fixed rates by zone; the minibuses that link the villages run for cash from the capital and stop by early evening. Rental cars need a local permit, and traffic drives on the left on roads that wind through the hills.
The Eastern Caribbean dollar is the currency, US dollars are accepted widely, and cards work at hotels, restaurants, and the supermarkets; the buses, the market, and the rum shops want cash.
Grand Anse is the two-mile beach the island is known for, with the hotels behind it and the water taxis to St. George's from its northern end. The capital's Carenage harbor, Fort George, and the spice market are the walk. The underwater sculpture park at Molinière is the snorkel and dive, booked with the shops on Grand Anse by message, and the boats lose signal a mile out.
Grenada grows nutmeg, cocoa, and cinnamon, and the interior is the tour: the Grand Etang crater lake, the Annandale and Concord waterfalls, the nutmeg station at Gouyave, and the chocolate factories that run tastings. The hills have 4G on the roads and gaps on the rainforest trails; the Seven Sisters waterfall walk is the one to download.
Carriacou, about an hour and a half by the Osprey ferry from St. George's or a short flight, is the quiet sister island, with Paradise Beach, the boatbuilding at Windward, and Petite Martinique beyond it; coverage is thinner than on Grenada, fine in Hillsborough and patchy on the beaches. Grenada is on the Caribbean plan, 25 islands and destinations on one plan that also covers Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Barbados; the phone switches networks by itself when you land. Read do I need a new plan for every country? for the detail.
Spicemas, Grenada's Carnival, runs through July into the second week of August, with the J'ouvert of the Jab Jabs and the Monday parades; tickets and band registration go online early. Grenada sits at the southern edge of the hurricane belt and sees fewer storms than islands further north, but June to November is still the wet season, and the airlines and hotels post changes to their apps first.
Your plan connects to Flow on 4G LTE. There is no 5G on this plan. Coverage is strong in St. George's, along Grand Anse, and around the coast road, and holds on the main roads through the interior. Your phone picks the network automatically once the plan is on; there is nothing to choose by hand.
On the rainforest trails, the far beaches of Carriacou, and the boats, expect gaps on any network. Save what you need in town.
Most phones sold since 2019 support eSIM, including iPhone XS and later and most Android flagships from the same window. Check yours before you add a plan; it takes a few seconds. On iPhone, go to Settings, General, About and look for an EID or Available SIM. On Android, go to Settings, Network & Internet, SIMs and look for an option to add an eSIM. On Samsung, dial *#06# and look for an EID.
Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. If you're not sure, carrier-locked vs unlocked: how to tell shows you where to look.
Adding a Grenada plan doesn't touch your regular SIM. Calls and texts on your usual number keep working exactly as before. The new plan handles data while you're there, and most phones run both at once without you doing anything else. Bank codes and two-factor texts still arrive on your home number, as long as that line stays switched on.
On an island the alternatives are thin: a home-carrier roaming pass that treats every island as a new country, a local SIM from a shop that closes early, or resort Wi-Fi that stops at the pool. A Grenada plan added at home beats all three: one price agreed before you fly, live the second you land, and a Caribbean plan if the trip takes in more than one island.
