여행객들은 가장 많이 묻는 질문은 무엇인가요?
Yes. The Europe plan covers Lithuania and 48 other countries, including Poland and Latvia, and your phone switches networks by itself at the border. Details in does a region plan cover every country in it?
In Lithuania your plan connects to Telia or Tele2, with 5G in the cities and 4G LTE elsewhere. Your phone joins the network automatically once the plan is switched on. If it hasn't connected a minute after landing, work through the no-signal checklist.
On the Lithuanian half, yes, with 4G in Nida and Juodkrantė and thin coverage in the dunes. The road ends at the border halfway down the spit.
Only on the Europe plan, which covers Poland; a Lithuania-only plan stops at the border. If you're already in Vilnius on a Lithuania plan, add a Poland plan to the same eSIM before you board.
It depends on how much data you want and how many days you're staying. A fixed plan costs less overall; an unlimited plan (5 GB a day at full speed, then slower) works out to a lower daily rate the longer you stay. Every current option and price is in the plan selector at the top of this page.
In the app: open My plans, choose your Lithuania plan, and tap Top up. The extra data lands on the same eSIM within a few seconds, with nothing new to add or scan. Full steps are in topping up data without reinstalling the eSIM.
Weeks ahead. The plan's days don't start until you turn it on and connect, so a plan bought a month before departure is still complete when you land. Plans need to be activated within 90 days of purchase. See what plan validity means and when it starts.
If it's eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked, yes, which covers most phones sold since 2019. The one-minute check for iPhone, Android, and Samsung is in is my phone eSIM compatible?

Lithuania eSIM for Vilnius, Trakai, and the Curonian Spit
Set it up before you fly. It's live the moment you land, nothing to check, nothing to remember.

Vilnius is a baroque old town with a startup scene, a bus from the airport that takes about 15 minutes, and a country beyond it where the roads run to a spit of sand with a border halfway down it. The best eSIM for Lithuania is the one added at home, on Wi-Fi, so the bus or the Bolt into the old town is booked before the bags come round.
Below: how a Lithuania plan works, how to set it up before you fly, what to expect in Vilnius, Kaunas, and on the coast, and why a Baltic or Polish loop wants the Europe plan.
Most travel eSIMs make you start over for every country, which in Europe means a new QR code every few days. KnowRoaming doesn't. You add the KnowRoaming eSIM, called KR.One, to your phone once, and from then on each trip is a plan you add to it: Lithuania now, Poland in the spring, the whole continent on a Europe plan when the itinerary gets ambitious. Nothing to scan again, nothing to delete when you get home.
The plan's days start when you turn it on and connect in Lithuania, not at checkout. Buy it weeks ahead, add it at home, and a delayed flight costs you nothing. The full rule is in what plan validity means and when it starts.
Choose a fixed plan for a set amount of data at the lowest overall price, or an unlimited plan when you'd rather not count. Unlimited plans give you 5 GB a day at full speed, then a slower speed until the allowance resets the next day. If a fixed plan runs low, top up in the app and the extra data lands on the same eSIM.
See it in two minutes: Meet KR.One, iPhone setup with KR.One, or Samsung setup with KR.One.
Do this at home on Wi-Fi. It takes about a minute.
Before you leave
- Get the KnowRoaming app (available on iOS and Android) and choose your Lithuania plan.
- Tap Add. First time on this phone? The app adds KR.One and your Lithuania plan together. Already have KR.One? Only the plan is added, with nothing to scan.
- Leave data roaming off on the KnowRoaming line until you land, and turn it off on your home line too so it doesn't run up charges in the background. Steps are in turning off roaming on your home line.
When you land
- Turn the plan on in the app, then turn data roaming on for the KnowRoaming line. That setting lives in your phone, so the app can't flip it for you.
- Give the phone a minute to find the network. If nothing happens, turn airplane mode on for 30 seconds and off again.
Prefer a QR code? The checkout page and your confirmation email both carry one; scan it from your phone's settings. Every tap, by device, is in adding your eSIM on iPhone, adding your eSIM on Android, and adding your eSIM on Samsung, or watch the iPhone QR walkthrough or the Samsung QR walkthrough. Still no signal after landing? Work through the no-signal checklist.
Vilnius airport is about 15 minutes from the old town by bus, train, or a Bolt, which works with the number you already have; the buses and trolleybuses run on the Trafi app and the Vilniečio card. Lithuania uses the euro and is close to cashless, with cards and phone wallets taken everywhere down to the market stalls.
The old town, the Gediminas tower, the Užupis republic across the river, and the Gate of Dawn are the walk; the MO museum and the Palace of the Grand Dukes sell tickets online.
Trakai's island castle is about 45 minutes from Vilnius by bus or train, Kaunas's interwar center and its castle an hour and a half, and the Hill of Crosses near Šiauliai a morning north; Druskininkai's spa town is the south. All have 5G or strong 4G, with the Dzūkija forests and the lake country the thin spots.
Anykščiai's treetop walk and narrow-gauge railway, the Aukštaitija lakes and their wooden villages, and the Grūtas park of Soviet statues near Druskininkai are the further trips, each a couple of hours by car with 4G in the towns and thin coverage among the lakes.
Klaipėda, the port city, is four hours west by train, and the ferry across to the Curonian Spit takes five minutes; Nida's dunes and Juodkrantė's witches' hill are the reason. The road down the spit ends at a border halfway; the Lithuanian half has 4G in the villages and thin coverage in the dunes and the forest. Palanga is the beach resort north of Klaipėda.
Warsaw is a train ride or a bus, Riga four hours north by coach, and both Poland and Latvia are on the Europe plan, 49 countries on one plan that switches networks by itself at the border; a Baltic loop or the road from Warsaw fits it without any change in the app. Belarus, across the eastern border, is on the Europe plan with its own practical caveats and a crossing that is often closed. A Lithuania-only plan stops at the border. Read do I need a new plan for every country? for the detail.
Joninės on 24 June empties the cities for the countryside bonfires; the Christmas market on Cathedral Square runs from late November; the Vilnius Book Fair in February and the Kaziukas fair in March are the winter draws. Winter is dark and cold, summer long and light, and the spit's guesthouses book out from June to August.
Your plan connects to Telia or Tele2, with 5G in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, and Šiauliai and 4G LTE across the towns and the coast. Your phone picks the network automatically once the plan is on; there is nothing to choose by hand.
In the Dzūkija and Aukštaitija forests, the lake country, and the dunes of the spit, expect gaps on any network. Save what you need in town.
Most phones sold since 2019 support eSIM, including iPhone XS and later and most Android flagships from the same window. Check yours before you add a plan; it takes a few seconds. On iPhone, go to Settings, General, About and look for an EID or Available SIM. On Android, go to Settings, Network & Internet, SIMs and look for an option to add an eSIM. On Samsung, dial *#06# and look for an EID.
Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. If you're not sure, carrier-locked vs unlocked: how to tell shows you where to look.
Adding a Lithuania plan doesn't touch your regular SIM. Calls and texts on your usual number keep working exactly as before. The new plan handles data while you're there, and most phones run both at once without you doing anything else. Bank codes and two-factor texts still arrive on your home number, as long as that line stays switched on.
For a European trip the real competition isn't another eSIM. It's your home carrier's roaming add-on, priced for a weekend and throttled by midweek; the SIM counter in arrivals, after the flight, with a queue; and café Wi-Fi, in a country where even the bus ticket is in an app. A Lithuania plan added at home beats all three: one price agreed before you fly, live the second you land, and a Europe plan waiting if the trip grows.
