Dark mode and accessibility in the app

The app follows your phone's settings. Dark mode, text size, and your screen reader work in the app the way they work everywhere else on the phone. Set them once in your phone's settings and the app picks them up.

Steps

  1. Dark mode: iPhone, Settings > Display & Brightness; Android, Settings > Display. Choose Dark.
  2. Text size: iPhone, Settings > Display & Brightness > Text Size; Android, Settings > Display > Font size.
  3. Screen reader: iPhone, Settings > Accessibility > VoiceOver; Android, Settings > Accessibility > TalkBack.

Good to know

  • If the app has its own appearance switch, it's under Settings > Display in the app. It overrides the phone's setting.
  • Every step in our guides is written as plain text, with no "tap the icon on the right," so it reads well with a screen reader.
  • If something in the app doesn't work with your screen reader or text size, that's a bug we want to hear about. Message us with the screen name and what happened.
